Things to do: Interlaken, Switzerland
Ok. I've been waiting and doing my homework on Switzerland for awhile now. I finally think this post is ready to go. Switzerland looks like a hidden gem in Europe. Everyone thinks of Berlin, London, Paris, Rome etc as the place to see but Switzerland should not be forgotten.
Interlaken is frequently visited by adventure-seeking backpackers throughout the year. The town is home to numerous backpacker-friendly hostels and companies that provide guided services in skydiving, canyoning, hang gliding, paragliding, and skiing, to name a few.
Canyon Swinging? I found a great blog that has some good information and video of a girl who attempted it.
Skydiving? Interlaken has it! In fact this is one of the things I would love to do. If I could knock out two of the things on my all time "gotta do" list within a two week span, that would rock! From the homework I did, skydiving in the Swiss Alps will set you back no less than $300 and it is all or nothing. There is certainly no wuss out money back policy.
If you seek the thrill like I do, Skydive Interlaken is your place to do it. One of my friends Josh, just came back back from a trip to Europe. Here is his video of him skydiving in Interlaken:
Canyon Diving? For more information on Canyon Diving in the Swiss Alps, check out our previous post here.
Hostels? After you are worn out from all the extreme sports, Balmers is a great place to wind down the day.
Nightlife? You probably won't find much in Interlaken. I've heard from multiple sources that nightlife is almost non-existent. The best bar is Metro Bar which happens to be at Balmers!
Last Two:
Groove Armada - Lightsonic
Kings of Leon - Crawl

Hello. First time poster, long time lurker. Judging by your posts, I can tell that you will be approaching this trip as a group of single males. Or the better word "gentleman" correct? I think you are approaching this trip perfectly. Pack lightly but dont skimp on the backpack. Make sure you have plenty of space to store things you purchase along the way. Although the drop ship idea is fanatastic. Let's get to the point. You are going to Europe to pick up beautiful broads. Trust me, there are plenty of them. I've traveled all over backpacking. I've been to the US and I can say that the quality of women in Europe far surpasses even the A class in US. Imagine walking into a bar where people actually talk? Crazy idea isnt it! American men are always one up at the bars in every city you are visiting except in France and in some cases London. I'd just avoid anybody that looks over the age of 30 when visiting there. They don't appreciate what you did for them in WWII. Fuck em. THe thing you hear about unshaven armpits. It's bullshit. You really don't see that over there.
I'd recommend any of the mesh Nike fit, or Under Armour clothing. They are great and easy to clean. You don't need to dry it very long. It also does not wrinkle in the pack. North Face is very nice for backpackers. Since you are going in May I'd get a pair of the pants that if you remove the bottom half become shorts. I learned that on my first trip and I pack them ever since.
Let me give you some more advice. Kick your ass when you are over there. See everything you can see. It won't be a vacation. How often do you get to do this? Most people NEVER get to do this.
Last but not least. Munich, Interlaken, Barcelona and believe it or not Brussels have very beautiful women.
Have fun be safe. You'll only do this once. Maybe twice, but it almost certainly wont be single the next time around.
Peace from Australia
Eli
